British Hydraulics raises nearly $14,000 for BCCFA

Vancouver celebrities and glittering take-home swag didn’t outshine a recent fundraiser’s biggest star: the BC Centre for Ability (BCCFA). British Hydraulics (www.britishhydraulics.com/) hosted Puttin’ on the Glitz! May 5, a sold-out event that saw 150 people including some of Vancouver’s A-list convene for dinner and dancing that raised $13,860 for BCCFA.
 
British Hydraulics operations manager Melanie Balletta says it feels great to have hosted the annual fundraiser, which for four years running has donated the money raised to local charities helping children. Terri Calvert intrigued by leadership training experience

Through two leadership and professional development programs she introduced this spring, Terri Calvert is intrigued to see the potential for team members’ greater awareness of self and others to yield some positive returns.
 
A key aspect of both programs involves learning about one another’s behavioural styles and how these different styles interact.

Stroke of creativity and camaraderie helping to make art class happen

Needed Daily Endeavours funding wrapped around facilitator’s handmade scarves

A stroke of creativity and camaraderie at the BC Centre for Ability aims to fulfil the artistic heart’s desire of individuals who have complex health needs and disabilities.
 
Just a few weeks ago, Cheryl Leblanc began selling her hand-crafted scarves to buy adaptive tools for a new art class at the Centre’s Daily Endeavours program.
 
This fundraising idea of hers is taking off. Cheryl’s colleagues at the Centre and others have purchased the colourful scarves at the recent Singing for Dreams fundraiser and from Paula Anderson, Director of Community Living at Daily Endeavours.
 
The goal is to raise $1,200 for specialized easels, paint brushes and other supplies so Daily Endeavours partici
